THE CHARACTER Full name: Analiese Turpin Nicknames: Lisa, Liz Era: 1997 Age: 17 Date of birth: October 8, 1980 House and Year: Ravenclaw year 7th Political Affiliation: none whatsoever Occupation: Student Sexuality: heterosexual (she doesn’t really care)
Five Positive Traits: Intelligent, loyal to her friends and family, patient (in her view), stands up for what she believes in, optimistic Five Negative Traits: a little moody, sarcastic, likes to keep her problems to herself, violent (in thoughts), has a bad habit of cussing Greatest Fear: has nightmares concerning her older sister, she fears facing her mother’s family. Has fear of cockroaches Full Personality:
Lisa, for others, is well reserved, friendly and kind. She’s Intelligent – being a true blooded Ravenclaw, she’s seen as someone who prefers books rather than adventure. But in truth, she’s rather boyish and out of this world – she even has this weird habit of using boy’s underwear. ( shhh! Quiet! D: ) She’s very quiet when it comes to strangers and acquaintances but when she’s around people she knows, she’s comfortable just being herself.
When you get to know her, you’ll see that although she’s optimistic, she has a weird way of showing it. Being sarcastic is one – she always has a side comment about something, and most of the time it can be rude. She considers herself very patient, but she likes to hassle people. She likes to see them scurrying and fussing over things while she calmly relax by the corner. Part of her being a Ravenclaw, she always like to point out people’s faults and when others call her rude and hypocrital, she simply says that “I’m not rude nor a hypocrite, I make mistakes and I admit those. I’m simply helping others correct theirs.” She’s a procrastinator, likes to work under pressure because she feels that she’s more efficient and more capable when time is at a limit. But she hates people pointing out how she puts important things for the last minute.
Another thing you’ll find about her, even if she’s a whole lot sardonic and always has a comment about anything and everything, is her ability to change the topic when the subject of the conversation concerns her family. She sees other people, even whom she considers her friends, work related. And she always says that she doesn’t put work and family together. But although she has that motto, her mood is often influenced by concerns about her family. She’s especially rude to others, even to her friends, when it’s her sister’s death anniversary and she usually cuss more when she receives a letter from her mother.
She tries not to attract so much attention, except with the whole sarcasm thing, she’ll just want to blend in with the crowd. She wants to get away from responsibilities but when a task is given to her she’ll really put an effort to accomplish it. She doesn’t like people who are know it alls, and hates it when others boss her or push her around.
Lisa likes sheeps (or goats), she watched something on telly (her first use of it) about a specie of goats where they get stunned if they’re surprised, making them fall on their feet stone cold. She always laughs when she remembers those goats. She also likes muggle music, mostly what they call punk. She likes how loud and angry they can sound without meaning to. She always wanted to ask her father to buy her a guitar, but is too shy to ask for one. So when she’s all hyped up, she plays air guitar. Her craving for music even made her create some kind of a crystal ball (she calls it Mugen short for music generator) wherein she puts all her favorite music to, so she can play air guitar while on Hogwarts.
She’s very destructive, in thoughts anyway. When there’s a person she dislikes she find all kinds of ways to torture that person in her mind. She jinx them in a whisper (without a wand! So she can’t really conjure it) and plays in her mind how they’ll wriggle and dance at her hex. She never had a crush in her entire life, not even with Harry Potter. Even though she finds him intriguing and would want to be acquainted with him, she never had any thoughts about him. Maybe because she likes to wear boys underwear (is that even a reason?).
Lisa has many thoughts about everything, about school, the houses, people around her, conformity, prejudice… and the list goes on and on, she’ll find any connection whatsoever to prove her point. And she always stands firm with her belief, even when things she wants to prove are wrong and unreasonable. She’s loyal to her friends and her father but she’s only friendly to those she likes, the others she feels indifferent towards them. For her it’s either you’re a friend or you’re not, nothing in between. She has a long list of people she dislikes, but on top priority is no other than her mother (second are cockroaches). She doesn’t know why her mother left them when her sister got ill, but because of it, her young mind (at that time) had already erased everything about her. There was one incident when she got lost in Diagon Alley (separated from her father) a witch approached her and asked where her mother was. She replied with an “I don’t have one” before running away from the puzzled woman. She doesn’t want any explanation from her mother, or any of her mother’s relatives. For her, her only family left is her father and no one else.

History:
Her family pedigree is not long. Her mother, Chantal Francoise Rousseau was from a well known pureblood family in France, she studied in Beauxbaton Academy. Her father, Philemon Turpin, on the other hand was a muggleborn from Hampshire, he had his formal education at Hogwarts and worked at the Ministry after. When her mother married her father, Chantal’s family refused to acknowledge Philamon and deliberately cut ties with them. When she was 8 years old, her older sister, Laure got ill, not knowing what the illness was or how to cure it, the Mediwizards of St. Mungo’s have diagnosed it as terminal. As a result, her mother left them and returned to her family in France. Being bedridden for 3 years, her sister died when she was attending Hogwarts as a first year student. When words about her sister’s death reached her mother, Chantal and her family offered to help Lisa and her father by taking her to France to live with them. Her father, at that time, considered the proposition but Lisa refused to leave her father in England. Thus she continued to study in Hogwarts instead. A year after, her father had gotten ill due to misery and she had no choice but take him to St. Mungo’s to recuperate. At that time, her Mother visited them and asked her again if she wanted to go to France with her, but again she refused. To compensate, her mother then gave her a Gringott’s Vault and deposits money every month for her and her father’s expenses. Lisa never opened that vault, she hid the key at the bottom of her trunk and never touched it once.
For five years, Lisa had spent most of her time in Hogwarts and all her holidays in St. Mungo's with her father, she'd occasionally receive letter from her mother or her grandmother about allowances and such but she never did reply to any of those letters. On her fifth year she sat on her OWLs where she mostly got an Outstanding, with an exception in Herbology (in which she got an Acceptable).
On the summer of her sixth year (where she spent most her time in St.Mungo's, just like her earlier summers), she was informed that her mother was visiting her father secretly and more frequently than before. But she never saw her nor her shadow in St. Mungo's and Lisa felt that it was for the better.
